INAUGURATION OF FIRST BHM CLASSES – 06 AUGUST 2024
The inauguration of the First Year Classes for the Undergraduate Hotel Management Program is a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a transformative educational journey for new students. The event will set the tone for the academic year, welcoming freshers into a vibrant community dedicated to excellence in hospitality education.
The Inauguration of the First Year BHM Classes was held at BGS Knowledge City Auditorium in a magnificent manner on 06 August 2024. The Program began with an invocation song invoking the blessings of the Almighty, followed by lamp lighting and Guru Vandana dedicated to our Founder Parampoojya Padma Bhushana Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji.
The students presented a delightful invocation song and dance performance. This was followed by the Welcome Address by our Principal Chef Eabin Mathew which evoked the spirit of a leader that should be in every individual who has been designated with that role.
The occasion was graced by the dignified presence of: Chief Guest Dr. Jayakara Shetty, Vice-Chancellor of the Bangalore University, Guests of Honour: Mr. Vinod Muthusubramanian, General Manager at Holiday Inn Express Bommasandra, Bengaluru, and Mr. Sachin Muddappa, Director – Sales and Marketing, Gokulam Grand and Spa Hotel.
Chef Eabin Mathew, Principal, welcomed and felicitated Lord Prakashanatha Swamiji. The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were felicitated by Poojya Swamiji during the function.
Dr. Jayakara Shetty, Vice Chancellor in his address motivated and encouraged the students to explore the various opportunities available in the Hospitality Sector and to pursue a career passionate to them. Dr. Shetty advised the students that Hospitality Industry is an industry which is both challenging and rewarding, where every detail matters, every guest experience is paramount and where the ability to adapt, innovate and excel will determine the success of every individual.
Mr. Vinod in his short address to the students encouraged them to embrace learning as every project, every practical experience is an opportunity to learn and grow. He also motivated the students to take advantage of the resources, faculty and opportunities as every aspect of the education is crucial.
Mr. Sachin Muddappa emphasized the students to develop a global perspective. The hospitality industry is inherently global, and one will be interacting with people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and expectations. Hence, one will be able to cater to the wide array of guest needs and preferences. He encouraged all students to be curious, embrace changes, and be open to new ideas.
Poojya Lord Prakashanatha Swamiji blessed all the students, parents and staff members with his enlightening Ashirvachana. The event ended with a Vote of thanks by Prof. Rajesh Kumar and the National Anthem.
