DATE – 25 AUGUST 2025

The students of BGS Institute of Hotel Management, Shabna Shirin and Sandhesh M P, participated in the MyThali Chefs Challenge held at Christ University, Bengaluru. The event, which brought together budding culinary talents from leading hospitality institutes, focused on celebrating the essence of traditional Indian thalis while promoting balanced nutrition and creative presentation.

Our students represented BGSIHM with great enthusiasm and professionalism, showcasing their culinary skills through the careful selection of dishes, authentic recipes, and aesthetically arranged presentations. Their efforts reflected not only technical proficiency in cooking but also a deeper understanding of food sustainability, nutrition, and cultural heritage.

Their participation itself was of immense significance, as the exposure to a competitive environment, interaction with peers from other reputed institutions, and feedback from industry stalwarts served as a valuable learning experience. It strengthened their confidence, improved their ability to work under pressure, and enhanced their understanding of food artistry and presentation techniques.

Importantly, the event highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaborative spirit, as the students worked together to conceptualize, prepare, and present their entries within a limited timeframe. Their commendable performance brought pride to BGSIHM.

At BGSIHM, students are encouraged to participate in such platforms that are stepping stones to broaden their horizons beyond the classroom. The MyThali Chefs Challenge reinforced the idea that success is not always measured by awards alone but also by growth, exposure, and the spirit of participation.

BGSIHM remains committed to encouraging students to take part in such initiatives, thereby nurturing them into competent and confident hospitality professionals.
