Equal Opportunities Cell

The Equal Opportunities Cell of the college ensures that all students are treated equally and attempts to address deep-seated inequalities in our system. EOC works for affirmative action for the deprived sections such as persons from SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories, persons from religious & language minorities, differently-abled persons and Women. The Equal Opportunities Cell is to help and empower the persons with disabilities, students to participate fully in the academic, intellectual, social and cultural life of college on an equal basis.

To achieve this goal, the college has established several cells like SC/ST Cell, OBC Cell, and Minority Cell. These cells make and implement policies for the development of the target groups and make them able to contribute to the workplace, society and nation at their best. These cells perform a lot of activities by involving students, faculty and society to create awareness regarding the equal opportunities.

OBJECTIVES

  • To promote diversity and inclusive practices on campus and provide appropriate opportunities for disadvantaged groups.
  • Ensure barrier-free access to colleges, departments, libraries, dormitories and offices.
  • To examine all possible ways in which the SC/ ST, OBC and minority groups could be helped.
  • To ensure that there is no discrimination in the College on grounds of disability or minority status.
  • To create an atmosphere of Equal Opportunity through awareness generation programmes.
  • Promote equality among all.

MECHANISM

Equal Opportunities cell of the college aims to provide equal opportunities to the students belonging to various backgrounds of community, religion, gender or ability. The mechanism of the cell is as follows:

  • Any student who is in need of assistance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters can approach the convenor directly and fill a form related to the query or may visit the college website to fill the form online.
  • Once the form is submitted the query raised by the student will be viewed by the convenor of the cell and the Principal.
  • Possible solution will be discussed by the cell convenor, members in presence of principal and a solution for the same will be decided.
  • Appropriate solution will be given to the student through email.
  • The cell assures to provide the solution within 7working days.
